The Western Inn was built in 1983 by K.L. and Sue Patel; it was the newest motel in Watonga with 31 spacious rooms. Already owning a number of motels around Oklahoma, the Patel’s decided to try their luck in Watonga.
K.L. Patel left his brother-in-law, Bob Patel, to manage the property. After their kids grew up, Bob and his wife decided to move. At that time, Naresh Patel took on the job as the manager. After 2 years of managing this business, Naresh bought the motel in 1996. Naresh, along with his wife and 3 kids have been the proud owners of the Western Inn motel for the last 12 years.
Naresh Patel was born in Gujarat, India. Graduating from college with a Master’s degree in Commerce, and a minor degree in education, Naresh became an accounting teacher at the local high school, before coming here.
They offer a ‘home away from home’ experience to every guest. With a 24 hour service desk, they make sure every guest is comfortable and feels as if they never left their house.
Little accessories, such as shampoo, soaps and cups decorate our rooms. You will find microwaves and refrigerators are in every room along with coffee pots. Every room has brand new beds and pillows to further acquaint our customers.
As the manager and owner of this property, Naresh Patel has met some of the most unique and interesting people. Brad Henry, who at that time was running for governor of Oklahoma, came to our motel and enjoyed a restful night, after a long day of running his campaign in Watonga and other places nearby.
